I am Carla Gerber

I am Carla Gerber, and mother of 3 sons and proud grandmother of Thomas, Lukas, Daan and Tessa

I am a breeder of Bassethounds since 1969 so 45 years, and have bred Great Danes,

Dachshounds and the Basset griffon vendeen in the past, I even have bred a litter of Chinese Cresteds

Before I got married I worked in several breeding

and boarding kennels in Holland and Germany ,where I have learned a lot..

Today I have 5 Bassethounds, 1 male and 4 bitches .

We used to have a boardingkennel for 20 years,

but then we decided to have only our own dogs in the hope to have less work.

So we moved to Wijnandsrade. After living there for 16 years,

we decided to start something completely different, we bought a house in France in a very nice and quiet place,

excellent for the dogs and of course for us. We had about 3500 square meter of land , just enough to keep us busy and the dogs happy.

In 2013 I decided to go back to Holland as now being on my own, I liked to have friends and family a bit closer.

So I landed in Klazienaveen, a small, but very nice town a few km's from the German border in the north-east of Holland.

A house and 1500 square meters are enough for me and now only 5 dogs.

I will continue breeding, as that still is my passion.

I am not the person who one can tell, what to do or not to do, I don't have to prove myself,

I know what I am doing and I like to continue this in the same way.

I am also a FCI judge for the following breeds:

Bassethounds, Bloodhounds, Beagles,Basset Artesien Normand,Dachshounds,

Basset Fauve de Bretagne and the Grand and Petit basset griffon vendeen.

Alpen Dasbrak, American foxhound, Black and Tan Coonhound, Drever, English Foxhound and the westphaelische Dachsbracke.
